The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 6 October 1969. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie participated in the largest rescue effort ever attempted in Southeast Asia. He flew his A-1 Skyraider on numerous low level ordnance delivery passes in the face of heavy ground fire and with complete disregard for his own personal safety. Lieutenant Wylie delivered his ordnance with such precision that the entire opposing force was incapacitated to the extent that the actual rescue of 54 human beings was accomplished without suffering a casualty. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider Search and Rescue pilot in Southeast Asia on 12 November 1969. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie flew protective cover for a rescue helicopter which was dispatched to pick up one member of an F-4 Phantom crew which had been shot down over one of the most heavily defended hostile route segments in Southeast Asia. When the helicopter sustained heavy battle damage from hostile antiaircraft fire, Lieutenant Wylie commenced repeated low altitude ordnance deliveries to suppress the fire and assure the safe egress of the helicopter. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider search and rescue pilot in Southeast Asia on 5, 6, and 7 December 1969. On those dates, Lieutenant Wylie braved an intense, accurate wall of anti-aircraft fire to assist in the rescue of an F-4 Phantom navigator who had bailed out when his aircraft had been downed at one of the most heavily defended portions of the most hostile route structure in Southeast Asia. Despite the intense fire which severely damaged his aircraft, Lieutenant Wylie made repeated low passes to accurately deliver his ordnance. Lieutenant Wylie' s superior aerial skill and unquestioned bravery significantly contributed to the successful rescue o! the downed crew member. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 28 December 1969. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie led a flight of Skyraiders supporting a search and rescue mission for two Navy pilots whose aircraft had been. downed by hostile fire. Despite intense antiaircraft artillery and automatic weapons fire, Lieutenant Wylie made repeated low passes and succeeded in destroying an entrenched automatic weapons position. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Fourth Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 20 March 1970. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie served as the Sandy low wingman on a rescue effort for the crew of an F-4 Phantom downed by opposing fire deep in hostile territory. Completely disregarding his own safety, Lieutenant Wylie flew his vulnerable Skyraider at low level under constant fire for over four hours defending the survivor and silencing the hostile guns. His aerial skill and efficient direction of available forces contributed materially to the final success of the effort. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Fifth Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 21 March 1970. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie was wingman to the on-scene commander of a rescue effort for the pilot of an 0V-10 Bronco that had been downed by antiaircraft artillery fire along one of the most hostile segments of the route structure in Southeast Asia. Lieutenant Wylie braved intense antiaircraft artillery fire while delivering the ordnance of his battle-damaged aircraft with such deadly accuracy that the survivor was saved from certain capture or death at the hands of hostile ground forces advancing on his position. In addition, he coordinated and organized the rescue forces for his leader in such a manner that the downed pilot was successfully rescued. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Sixth Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 15 April 1970. On that date, a large group of hostile forces had driven a group of friendly villagers from their homes and were attacking them and their badly outnumbered defenders at a nearby site. Lieutenant Wylie arrived on-scene and through repeated passes at low-level that dangerously exposed himself to the heavily armed hostiles, he succeeded in breaking the siege and routing the attackers. Lieutenant Wylie's determination and outstanding marksmanship greatly contributed to the saving of a position of vital importance and contributed to the well being of friendly indigenous peoples while at the same time extracting a heavy toll from the attacking forces. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Wylie for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 7 February 1970. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie participated in a successful rescue effort for two downed Navy pilots who were forced to abandon their crippled aircraft near one of the most heavily defended hostile route structures in Southeast Asia. Despite heavy antiaircraft fire which severely damaged on Skyraider, Lieutenant Wylie was successful in reducing hostile opposition sufficiently to allow the vulnerable rescue helicopter to pick-up both survivors. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Eighth Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Anthony N. Wylie for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Skyraider pilot in Southeast Asia on 28 February 1970. On that date, Lieutenant Wylie was leader of a flight of two Skyraiders scrambled from alert status to assist a friendly ground team under attack from hostile forces equipped with both automatic weapons and antiaircraft artillery. Despite the heavy opposition that had downed two helicopters that same day, Lieutenant Wylie delivered his ordnance at tree-top level in extremely close proximity to the team for maximum effectiveness. His attacks played an important part in thwarting the advantage held by the hostile forces and paved the way for the successful extraction of the friendly team. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Wylie reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
