Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Mark C. Schibler for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Rescue Co-pilot near Bien Hoa, Republic of Vietnam on 25 September 1966. On that date, Lieutenant Schibler demonstrated outstanding airmanship and courage in the highly successful accomplishment of an extremely hazardous night rescue mission within the confines of a uncharted, heavily mined area. While exposed to possible hostile fire and flying in weather conditions which allowed only fifty feet visibility in fog, his actions resulted in the successful recovery of two seriously injured crewmembers. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Schibler reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

2.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (FIRST OAK LEAF CLUSTER) to Captain Mark C. Schibler for heroism while participating in aerial flight as Copilot of an HH-53C Rescue Helicopter in Southeast Asia on 19 March 1972. On that date, Captain Schibler’s navigational and clearing efforts, coupled with assisting the Aircraft Commander during tree top hovering, proved invaluable to the rescue of two American airmen downed deep in hostile territory. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Schibler reflects great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

3.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (SECOND OAK LEAF CLUSTER) to Captain Mark C. Schibler for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 16 December 1972. On that date, Captain Schibler's job knowledge, outstanding airmanship, and continuous professionalism, displayed under the constant threat of hostile fire and adverse weather conditions, immeasurably aided the 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Schibler reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
