MODEL: AC-130
Citation: 1.)
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald D. Moser for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-130 Gunship Low Light Level Television Sensor Operator in Laos on 30 January 1971. On that date, while on a night armed reconnaissance mission over heavily defended hostile supply routes, he directly assisted in the damage or destruction of 21 hostile supply vehicles, the creation of 12 secondary fires and the ignition of 27 secondary explosions. Despite heavy jungle and extremely rough terrain, he acquired and tracked the target vehicles with a minimum of lost effort, assuring that the attack could be pressed continually. His efforts were instrumental in the denial to hostile forces of large quantiti4es of badly needed supply. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Moser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
2.)
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald D. Moser for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-130 Gunship Fire Control Officer over Laos on 16 April 1971. On that date, while on a night armed reconnaissance mission over heavily defended hostile supply routes, his actions led to the damage or destruction of 39 hostile supply vehicles and the creation of numerous secondary fires and explosions. By continually refining the complex parameters of the Fire Control Computer and coordinating the various sensor operations, he maintained maximum firing effectiveness despite violent aircraft maneuvers to evade deadly accurate anti-aircraft fire, thereby producing these exceptional mission results. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Moser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
3.)
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald D. Moser for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-130 Gunship Low Light Level Television Sensor Operator in Laos on 3 February 1971. On that date, while on a night armed reconnaissance mission over heavily defended hostile supply routes, he directly assisted in the damage or destruction of 24 hostile supply vehicles and the creation of numerous secondary fires and explosions. Major Moser's outstanding technique allowed the Low Light Level Television Sensor to be used as primary additional targets. Through his exceptional effort large quantities of supplies were denied the hostile forces. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Moser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
4.)
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald D. Moser for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-130 Gunship Low Light Level Television Sensor Operator in Laos on 5 March 1971. On that date, while on a night armed reconnaissance mission over heavily defended hostile supply routes, he directly assisted in the damage or destruction of 43 hostile supply vehicles and the creation of nine secondary fires and explosions. Searching out and tracking each of his targets with skill and determination, his efforts were a part of one of the most successful missions in the annals of the AC-130 Gunship program and denied large quantities of badly needed supplies to hostile duty displayed by Major Moser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
5.)
The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Donald D. Moser for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-130 Gunship Low Light Level Television Sensor Operator over Laos on 3 May 1971. On that date, while on a night armed reconnaissance mission over heavily defended hostile supply routes, his actions led to the damage or destruction of 31 hostile supply vehicles and the creation of numerous secondary fires and explosions. The outstanding results produced by this mission indicate his exceptional courage while threatened by over 700 rounds of deadly accurate anti-aircraft fire and his superior skill in operating his sensor system. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Moser reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
