heavy anti-aircraft weapons defending the vital railway and bridge complex at Sinanju, Korea. Although very intense ground fire was encountered in the target area, Lieutenant Gill courageously drove his aircraft through the bursts of flak and dropped his bombs directly on the target, inflicting maximum damage upon the enemy positions. By his personal determination to fulfill his assignment and carry the attack to the enemy, Lieutenant Gill has brought great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
