Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Lawrence J. Elliott for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-26 Navigator in Southeast Asia on the night of 22 November 1967. On that night, Lieutenant Elliott in the face of eight 37 millimeter cannons firing at him consistently, aided in the attack of critical logistic lines of hostile force supply. His armament selection, application of tactics, and perseverance assured the destruction of eight trucks, the damaging of three more, and destruction of over 30 tons of supplies. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Elliott reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

2.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to First Lieutenant Lawrence J. Elliott for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-26 Night Attack Bomber Co-Pilot/Navigator in Southeast Asia on 20 December 1967. On that night, while participating in a voluntary armed reconnaissance mission, Lieutenant Elliott with marginal navigational aids, positioned his aircraft exactly over a highly defended target. Then, with unwavering calmness and courage, at low altitude, in rugged mountainous terrain, against intense hostile fire, Lieutenant Elliott's application of tactics, his selection of ingress-egress attack headings, and armament selection led to the destruction of three trucks and the creation of numerous secondary fires and explosions. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Elliott reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

3.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (Second Oak Leaf Cluster) to Captain Lawrence J. Elliott for heroism in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force as an A-26 Attack Bomber Co-Pilot/Navigator in Southeast Asia on 7 November 1967. On that date, Captain Elliott directed his aircraft on a night low-level, armed reconnaissance mission through a 7th Air Force High Threat Area. Then with complete disregard for his own safety he succeeded in acquiring the position of a military truck convoy at a heavily defended sector of road. While under known superior antiaircraft fire, at night, and in rugged terrain he calmly aided in the destruction of six trucks and the creation of four secondary fires and eight secondary explosions. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Elliott reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
