Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Staff Sergeant Alberto Capone for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-123 Loadmaster at An Hoa, Republic of Vietnam, on 14 October 1969. Despite heavy ground fire, Sergeant Capone's crew completed two vitally needed emergency resupply sorties into the small airstrip. By virtue of his planning and skill, ground time and exposure to the hostile environment were held to the absolute minimum. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Capone reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
