Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Bruce T. Burrows for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an EC-47 Navigator over the A Shau Valley, Republic of Vietnam on 22 May 1967. On that date, Captain Burrows was flying a combat support mission unfriendly ground forces. With great determination and superior airmanship, in constant danger from hostile ground fire, Captain Burrows caused his aircraft to be maneuvered in such a manner as to provide essential and timely intelligence to friendly ground forces, contributing immeasurably to the success of their operation. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Burrows reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
