Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Dailey W. Bugg for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a B-52G Electronic Warfare Officer near Vinh, North Vietnam on 28 December 1972. On that date, Captain Bugg was the Electronic Warfare Officer on the lead aircraft of a three-ship cell of B-52G's targeted in a surface-to-air missile defended area. Captain Bugg successfully countered the enemy defensives, thus contributing significantly to the success of this vital combat mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Bugg reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
