Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant David O. Bruckheimer for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight by participating in more than fifty operational flights in unarmed airplanes through the combat zones of Upper Assam, Burma and Southwest China, where enemy attack was probable and expected. They performed their duties in such a manner that the highest credit is reflected upon themselves and the military forces of the United States.
