Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Louis C. Breckenridge for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of a B-25 type aircraft. On 8 March 1945, Lieutenant Breckenridge flew in an attack upon a rail fill at Mori, Italy. Displaying great courage and superior flying ability, as he skillfully maneuvered through intense and accurate anti-aircraft fire upon the approach to the target, Lieutenant Breckenridge's perfect run over the objective enabled his Bombardier to release his bombs with devastating effect on this vital link in enemy communication lines. On more than sixty combat missions his outstanding proficiency and steadfast devotion to duty have reflected great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
