Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major DeLeon Wilson Jr., United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a combat air-crew member in Southeast Asia on 17 June 1967. On that date, while under intense and accurate fire from unfriendly forces, Major Wilson demonstrated cool courage, undaunted determination, and great resolve by exposing himself during direct air attacks against hostile positions. Persevering in the fate of danger and death, he relentlessly and effectively aided in neutralizing the hostile forces. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Wilson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

2.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major DeLeon Wilson Jr., United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an RF-101 Reconnaissance Pilot on 18 August 1967. On that date, Major Wilson flew an extremely hazardous and sensitive mission in support of Reconnaissance activities over Southeast Asia. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major DeLeon Wilson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

3.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major DeLeon Wilson Jr., United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Photo Reconnaissance Pilot over North Vietnam on 29 August 1967. On that date, Major Wilson flew an unarmed and unescorted RF-101 “Voodoo” deep within heavily defended hostile territory to photograph numerous assigned targets as well as several important targets of opportunity including a suspected surface to air missile site. With unwavering calmness and in spite of the intense threat of lethal hostile actions, Major Wilson acquired outstanding photographic coverage of all his targets. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Wilson reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
