Citation:  1.) The Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement, while serving as Gunner of B-24 airplanes on many bombardment missions over enemy occupied Continental Europe. Displaying great courage and skill, S/Sgt Wilson, fighting from his gun position, warded off many enemy attacks and materially aided in the successful completion of each of these missions. The courage, coolness and exceptional skill displayed by S/Sgt Wilson on all of these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Fores of the United States.
