Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Corporal Victor Wier for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight with Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 241 from 7 to 13 March 1945. In the successful completion of these missions, Corporal Wier contributed materially to the success of United States efforts. By his undaunted courage, superb airmanship, and unyielding devotion to duty in the face of hazardous flying conditions, Corporal Wier reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.
