Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Warrant Officer Sidney E. Bradshaw for heroism while participating in aerial flight. Warrant Officer Bradshaw distinguished himself by heroic actions on 25 May 1967, near Phu Cong, Republic of Vietnam, while serving as Pilot of a helicopter inserting and extracting a security force committed to secure a helicopter shot down in the area. With unfaltering courage and devotion to duty, Warrant Officer Bradshaw twice flew his aircraft through a hail of hostile fire. On his approach for the extraction of the security force, his helicopter was under continuous hostile fire, but he continued his mission. On lift off a burst of enemy fire hit the hydraulics and did extensive damage to the main rotor, rendering the aircraft nearly impossible to fly. In an outstanding display of courage and flying ability, he managed to keep his aircraft in the air. Warrant Officer Bradshaw's actions are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
