Citation: 1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Lieutenant Colonel Wilbur H. Weedin for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot of a C-130B aircraft at Khe Sanh, Republic of Vietnam, on 10 March 1968. On that date, Colonel Weedin volunteered to participate in one of the most hazardous airdrops ever undertaken in Southeast Asia. He successfully completed the airdrop of vitally needed supplies to the beleaguered ground forces while under instrument conditions. Colonel Weedin's calm reserve and profound sense of mission accomplishment under adverse conditions exemplify the highest standards of military airlift. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Colonel Weedin reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
