Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS to LOWELL WAYNE TURNER, AVIATION RADIOMAN SECOND CLASS UNITED STATES NAVAL RESERVE for service as set forth in the following CITATION: For heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight during operations against enemy Japanese forces in the Western Pacific Area, from April 19 to August 15, 1945. Participating in twenty anti-shipping and patrol missions during this period, TURNER contributed materially to the success of his squadron. His gallant devotion to duty was in keeping with highest traditions of the United States Naval Service. Lowell Wayne Turner is a member of the Distinguished Flying Cross Society.
