Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Robert K. Taylor for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-47 Pilot near Tam Ky, Republic of Vietnam on 6 September 1967. On that date, Captain Taylor and his crew provided close air support for friendly forces defending the provincial capital of Quang Tin Province. Despite flares being dropped through their altitude and intense hostile ground fire, Captain Taylor and his crew repeatedly attacked the hostile forces and inflicted massive losses. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Taylor reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
