Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Alston Bossieux, Jr., for extraordinary achievement in aerial flight. Flying from bases in China in medium bombardment type aircraft, they distinguished themselves while taking part in more than 200 hours of combat flight. They inflicted heavy losses on the enemy in material and personnel in their actions which ranged throughout China, Burma, Thailand and Indo-China. Although fire from enemy aircraft and ground guns was encountered in many flights, they exhibited aggressive determination in attacks against enemy installations, lines of communication, and supply and troop concentrations. With a minimum of navigating aids, they made frequent flights through adverse weather and over mountainous areas. The outstanding achievements of these officers and enlisted men reflect great credit upon himself and the Army Air Forces.
