Citation: 1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Second Lieutenant Maurice G. Rockett, Jr., 95th Bombardment Group, for extraordinary achievement while serving as Bombardier on many bombardment missions over enemy-occupied Continental Europe on sustained operations. Displaying create courage and skill, Lieutenant Rockett, fighting from his gun position, has destroyed one enemy airplane and through the courageous application of his bombing technique in battle, he has directly aided in the destruction of important enemy installations on each of these missions, among which were the operations over Rostock, Germany, 20 February 1944; Brunswick, Germany, 15 March 1944; and Augsburg, Germany, 16 March `1944. The courage, coolness and skill displayed by Lieutenant Rockett on all these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Army Air Forces of the United States.
