Citation:  1.) The Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-130E Flight Engineer at An Loc, Republic of Vietnam, on 28 Apri 1972. On that date, Sergeant Robins flew a night low-level tactical emergency airdrop of critically needed ammunition and supplies to a besieged concentration of allied forces located in a heavily defended hostile area. With complete disregard for his own personal safety and using previously untried tactics, Sergeant Robins flew a successful night airdrop in spite of intense hostile ground fire and marginal visibility. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergearnt Robins reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

1.) Technical Sergeant Billy F. Robins is awarded the Distinguished Flying gCross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-130E Flight Engineer for the 50th Tactical Airlift Squadron at Kontum, Republic of Vietnam, on 8 May 1972. On that date, Sergeant Robins flew an emergency resupply mission into the besieged field. In spite of heavy ground fire and mortar attacks, Sergeant Robins was able to deliver his cargo of critically needed medical supplies. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Robins reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
