Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Technical Sergeant John J. Realmuto for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a KC-135 Inflight Refueling Technician, 376th Strategic Wing, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, on 7 April 1972. During this mission, Sergeant Realmuto's exemplary knowledge and outstanding airmanship displayed under adverse and hazardous conditions aided in the successful completion of his unit's mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Realmuto reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
