Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer Four Samuel D. Morgan for heroism while participating in aerial flight from 25 January 2023 to 26 January 2023 as the MH-60M Medium Assault Fully Mission Qualified Pilot-In-Command for a Joint Task Force in support of overseas contingency operations. During this period, Chief Warrant Officer Four Morgan meticulously planned and flawlessly executed a high risk mission, launching from a complex maritime setting, through an early warning network, and under persistent enemy threat in harsh environmental conditions. Without regard for his personal safety, Chief Warrant Officer Four Morgan displayed distinct courage, exceptional airmanship, and gallantry under hostile threat against an armed enemy of the United States. Through his distinctive accomplishments, Chief Warrant Officer Four Morgan reflected great credit upon himself, this command, and the United States Army. (with *C"Device)
