Citation:  1.) The Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement during aerial flight as a Navigator, from 30 December 1964 to 6 April 1965. During this period, he participated in a program of vital international significance and demonstrated outstanding effectiveness and courage in the accomplishment of missions conducted under exceptional flight conditions. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant O'Hara reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

2.) Major William F. O'Hara is awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Navigator, RC-135M, 82d Strategic Reconnaissance Squadron, 376th Strategic Wing, Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan on 23 December 1972. On that date, he displayed courage, professional competence and selfless devotion in the successful completion of important combat missions in Southeast Asia. These distinctive achievements were accomplished while engaged in hazardous operations requiring frequent and repeated exposure to hostile air and ground activity. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major O'Hara reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
