Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Charles J. Nagle for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-7A pilot near Duc Lap and at Bu Krak, Republic of Vietnam on 26 August 1968. On that date Major Nagle was flying a combat essential air drop mission, delivering critically needed ammunition and medical supplies through intense hostile ground fire. He also air landed critically needed petroleum and food while the airfield was being mortared. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Nagle reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
