Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Roger B. Myhrum for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as Pilot of an F-105D aircraft on 9 June 1965. On that date, while on a mission to destroy selected targets in North Vietnam, Captain Myhrum's aircraft was hit by hostile fire seriously impairing controls and maneuverability. Through his outstanding knowledge of the aircraft, competent assessment of capabilities and superb application of airmanship, Captain Myhrum was able to maintain control of his damaged aircraft and place his bombs on target. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Myhrum reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
