The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Eugene F. Moses, 2nd Lieutenant, 524th Bombardment Squadron, 379th Bombardment Group {H), Army Air Forces, United States Army, for extraordinary achievement, while serving as Bombardier of a B-17 airplane on twenty-five bombardment missions over enemy occupied continental Europe. Displaying great courage and skill, Lieutenant Moses, fighting from his gun position has warded off many enemy attacks and has materially aided in the success of each of the twenty-five missions. The courage, coolness and skill displayed by Lieutenant Moses on all these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to Eugene F. Moses, Second Lieutenant, Army Air Force, United States Army for meritorious achievement, while serving as Bombardier of a B-17 airplane, on a mission over Germany, 11 January 1944. On reaching the target, the plane was struck by 20 mm shells, wounding the radio operator and damaging the oxygen supply lines in the radio department. Immediately after releasing his bombs, Lieutenant Moses turned to the wounded radio operator and administered first-aid for over two hours. The skill and untiring energy expended by Lieutenant Moses were largely responsible for saving the life of his comrade. His actions on this occasion reflect great credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
