Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Sergeant Bruce W. Milne for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an AC-119G Aerial Gunner near Quang Ngai, Republic of Vietnam on 13 August 1969. On that date, Sergeant Milne's gunship aircraft provided close air support for a friendly ground unit under attack and completely surrounded by hostile forces. Despite intense ground fire, he hand-loaded thousands of rounds of ammunition and effected the necessary repairs to his weapons, thus enabling his gunship to maintain continuous fire which resulted in the repulsion of the attacking forces and insured the safety of the friendly units. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Milne reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
