Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Glenn T. Martin,Jr., for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight against the enemy on 16 April 1945. Captain Martin was leading a squadron of P-47 type aircraft in attacks upon heavily-defended enemy supply trains and airfields and through his exceptional aerial proficiency and fearless tactical technique, his squadron destroyed fifteen tanks and damaged ten by dive-bombing. He then led a devastating attack on an enemy landing ground and twenty-six aircraft were destroyed and damaged. The calm perseverance, fortitude and devotion to duty exhibited by Captain Martin on this occasion were contributing factors in the success of the mission and reflect great credit upon himself and the Army Air Forces.
