Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Warrant Officer 1 Bradley R. Lupien for heroism while participating in aerial flight evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Warrant Officer Lupien distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions on 6 December 1970 while serving as Aircraft Commander in the Republic of Vietnam. When a team of Rangers had been in contact with an unknown sized enemy force and their extraction was imperative, Warrant Officer Lupien unhesitatingly flew in to pick up the team. Despite not having the cover fire of the pink team to suppress the enemy, he landed his aircraft and successfully extracted the five man Ranger team. Warrant Officer Lupien's outstanding flying ability and devotion to duty is in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
