The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Peter I. Lasho for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an F-4C Pilot near Kham Duc, Republic of Vietnam on 12 May 1968. On that date, Captain Lasho flew a mission in direct support of friendly ground troops who were under heavy hostile attack. Despite marginal weather, mountainous terrain, and intense hostile ground fire, Captain Lasho delivered his ordnance with unerring accuracy. His actions helped prevent the overrunning of the friendly camp. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Lasho reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Despite darkness, reduced visibility, and anti-aircraft fire, Captain Lasho delivered his ordnance with unerring accuracy, thus neutralizing a hostile enemy. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Lasho reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
