Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Sergeant Kenneth A. Larson for extraordinary achievement while assigned to the 327th Bomb Squadron, 92d Bombardment Group serving as a B-17 Tail Gunner. During his tour of duty, Sergeant Larson's expert skill was demonstrated when he and his crew participated in the strategic bombing mission of an oil refinery over enemy-occupied Continental Europe on 1 September 1944. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant Larson reflect great credit to himself and the United States Army Air Corps.
