Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Charles Lajeskie, Jr., for extraordinary achievement while serving as Pilot on many high altitude, heavy bombardment missions over Germany and German occupied Continental Europe. Under the duress of heavy fighter attacks, anti-aircraft fire, and often under adverse weather conditions, Lieutenant Lajeskie, by his superior airmanship contributed to the success of all of these operations. The untiring effort, skill, and determination under stress of combat displayed by Lieutenant Lajeskie are in keeping with the highest traditions of the Armed Forces of the United States.
