The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Waldemar D. Krueger for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an A-1H pilot near Ben Het Special Forces Camp, Republic of Vietnam, on 1 September 1969. On that date, Major Krueger saved the lives of many American and Free World Forces personnel by flying under hostile fire through extremely hazardous weather and rough terrain to support an encircled patrol deep in hostile territory. Although his aircraft was damaged, Major Krueger, flying as a single aircraft, made repeated bombing and strafing passes pinning down the hostile forces long enough for the patrol to establish a strong defensive position from which they were subsequently rescued. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Waldemar D. Krueger for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 pilot in Southeast Asia on 12 November 1969. On that date while participating in a rescue attempt of two downed pilots, Major Krueger repeatedly exposed himself and his aircraft to intense hostile ground fire in order to deliver his badly needed ordnance. Upon completion of his primary task, Major Krueger again faced hostile fire in a successful attempt to suppress it. The outstanding airmanship displayed by Major Krueger aided immeasurably against the hostile force. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Krueger for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 pilot in Southeast Asia on 15 February 1970. On that date, Major Krueger flew deep into hostile territory to strike a truck park and nearby gun positions. Although plagued by intense ground fire he delivered his ordnance on the target and then remained in the area to direct two more flights of aircraft onto the target. His sustained efforts resulted in two trucks destroyed and the enemy gun positions silenced. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Krueger for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 pilot in Southeast Asia on 7 April 1970. On that date, he was launched as a Sandy for a rescue mission of a downed aircrew deep in hostile territory. The survivors were surrounded by heavy caliber anti-aircraft batteries and numerous hostile troops who were constantly directing a heavy barrage of fire at the rescue forces. Through superior airmanship and ingenious planning, Major Krueger was instrumental in effecting the rescue of the two pilots. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

Krueger for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-1 Tactical Fighter Pilot in Southeast Asia on 30 June 1970. On that date, he was scrambled as On-Scene-Commander on a rescue mission for a downed airman deep in hostile territory. After locating the survivor he deliberately exposed himself at low altitude to pinpoint hostile gun positions. His superior management of the Search and Rescue resources resulted in a successful pickup in minimal time. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Major Krueger reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
