Citation: 1.) The AWARD OF THE DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS TO WILBUR C. HUFF Lieutenant Colonel Wilbur C. Huff distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement. While participating In aerial flight as a CH-3E Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 27 June 1968 On that date Colonel Puff successfully inserted a highly trained Special Forces team into a nearly Inaccessible position deep In hostile territory. Colonel Huff gently lowered his helicopter among large trees in a rugged mountain Canyon and skillfully hovered for twenty-one fatiguing minutes the team was lowered by hoist cable 135 feet to the jungle floor. He then skillfully egressed in the face of an emergency situation which developed as the last of the team was inserted. The professional competence aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Colonel Huff reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
