Citation:  1.) The President of the United States of America has awarded the DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS with “C” device to Chief Warrant Officer Three Jason R. Hickman, United States Army for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight from 26 October 2019 to 27 October 2019 as an MH-47G Heavy Assault Flight Lead Pilot-in-Command for a Joint Task Force in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. During this period, Chief Warrant Officer Three Hickman meticulously planned and flawlessly executed a high-risk mission, deep inside enemy territory, through an integrated air defense network, under zero illumination, and harsh environmental conditions. Without regard for his own personal safety, Chief Hickman displayed distinct courage and gallantry under hostile fire against an armed enemy of the United States. Chief Warrant Officer Three Hickman’s distinctive accomplishments are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Joint Task Foree, and the United States Army.

2.) The President of the United States of America has awarded the DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS to Chief Warrant Officer Three Jason R. Hickman, United States Army for heroism while participating in aerial flight on 6 December 2015 as an MH-47G Fully Mission Qualified Pilot for a Joint Task Force in support of Operation FREEDOM'S SENTINEL. On this date, Chief Warrant Officer Three Hickman's leadership, superior aviation expertise, and blatant disregard for personal welfare were evident during a high profile mission culminating in a daylight exfil of the ground force from a heavily defended valley. Chief Warrant Officer Three Hickman's distinctive accomplishments are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the Joint Task Force, and the United States Army.
