Citation: 1.) The Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement in aerial flight as Pilot of a Fighter Plane in Fighting Squadron Eighty Two, attached to the U.S.S.BENNINGTON, in action against enemy Japanese fores in the Tokyo, Iwo Jima, Okinawa Jima and Kyushu Areas from February 16 to June 8, 1945. Participating in twenty strikes during this period, Lieutenant, Junior Grade, Hahn contributed materially to the success of his squadron in inflicting extensive damage on enemy shipping, airfields and military installations. His skill and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
