The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Major Wade L. Green for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4C Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 10 May 1967. On that date, Major Green was called on to halt a force of two hundred hostile troops moving southward into the Demilitarized Zone of the Republic of Vietnam. Through his alertness and aerial skill Major Green succeeded in stopping the force while inflicting heavy casualties among the hostile troops. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Green reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to Major Wade L. Green for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4C Aircraft Commander in Southeast Asia on 3 July 1967. On that date Major Green was instrumental in saving a friendly convoy of ninety vehicles which was under fire from an estimated three hundred hostile troops. Had it not been tor the timely and accurate firepower delivered by Major Green, the superior hostile force would have destroyed or damaged the entire convoy. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Major Green reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
