Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Specialist Four Larry E. Frost for heroism while participating in aerial flight as evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty in the Republic of Vietnam. Specialist Four Frost distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions on 17 March 1970, while serving as a gunner in Phouc Long Province in the Republic of Vietnam. While his helicopter came under heavy ground fire, Specialist Four Frost began placing fire on the enemy positions. Although they began receiving a barrage of fire form other locations, he remained in his position to engage the aggressors and provide as much coverage for his aircraft as possible. His outstanding flying ability and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
