Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer Three James Q. Frederick for heroism while participating in aerial flight as the Pilot-in-Command during a lifesaving medevac mission at JJS Oubaidy, adjacent to Sadr City, Iraq on 18 July 2008. His composure and steadfastness in the face of the enemy were unparalleled. His courageous actions while executing the rescue of four Iraqi police from the top of a seven-story, burning building were above and beyond the call of duty. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Chief Warrant Officer Three Frederick reflect his, and the United States Army's, absolute willingness to put the lives of coalition forces before their own. Chief Warrant Officer Three Frederick's actions reflect great credit upon himself, multinational division-Baghdad, and the United States Army.
