Citation: 1.) The Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating as Navigator-Bombardier of a B-26 type aircraft in aerial flight against the enemy in 11 September 1941. When his aircraft was severely damaged by a shattering burst of anti-aircraft fire which disabled his left engine, Lt. Graham continued to lead and, direct the evasive action and the course to the target where bombs were released with devastating accuracy. On the return route, with wounded men aboard, Lt. Graham exhibited unusual skill and coolness in navigating his lone aircraft through a flak-free corridor three hundred miles to an emergency field in England. The outstanding airmanship and devotion to duty displayed by Lt, Graham on this occasion reflect highest credit upon himself and his organization.
