Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Peter H. Fox for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an A-7D Aircraft Commander over Southeast Asia on 9 April 1973. On that date, Captain Fox participated in an extremely dangerous night escort mission of a military convoy which had come under heavy siege while transporting critically needed supplies to friendly forces. With complete disregard for the intense ground fire, Captain Fox continued the low altitude attack and successfully destroyed the advance of the hostile force thereby allowing the convoy to arrive safely at its destination. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Fox reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
