Goodell, WO1, 100B, Co A, 101st Avn Bn (AH) (Ambl), Republic of Vietnam, for heroism while participating in aerial flight evidenced by voluntary action above and beyond the call of duty in the Republic of Vietnam on 20 July 1970. Warrant Officer Goodell distinguished himself while serving as commander of a UH-1H lift helicopter during a rescue mission near Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam.
