Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Technical Sergeant Lawrence Goldstein for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as Radio Operator/Gunner on twenty five heavy bombardment missions over enemy-occupied Continental Europe. In addition to warding off enemy attacks from his gun position, Sergeant Goldstein distinguished himself by calm and skillful operation of his radio during aerial combat. The courage, coolness and skill displayed by Sergeant Goldstein on all these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
