Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Robert M. Gee for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a B-52G Electronic Warfare Officer near Dong Hoi, North Vietnam on 26 November 1972. On that date, Captain Gee participated in an attack while encountering a highly sophisticated air defense system. His quick and accurate reactions to the imminent threat of a surface-to-air missile system successfully prevented engagement and was a critical factor in the successful completion of the mission. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Gee reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
