Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Chief Warrant Officer Three Brian C. Ellis, United States Army, 1 st BN, 160 th SOAR, for extraordinary achievement during aerial flight in Iraq as a fully mission qualified aviator assigned to a Joint Task Force in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM on 27 March 2003 to 28 March 2003. Chief Warrant Officer Three Ellis, superb leadership during this intense eight hour operational mission, under zero illumination in the most challenging environment, contributed directly to the successful mission accomplishment. Chief Warrant Officer Three Ellis's distinctive accomplishments reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Army, and the Department of Defense.
