Citation: 1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Warren J. Eisenhower, Captain, Artillery, United States Army, 121st Aslt Hel Co, Republic of Vietnam, for action dated 13 April 1968 for heroism while participating in aerial flight evidenced by voluntary actions above and beyond the call of duty: Captain Eisenhower distinguished himself by exceptionally valorous actions while serving as aircraft commander aboard a UH-1D lead transport helicopter on a particularly hazardous resupply mission to Nam Can and Dam Doi. On final approach into Nam Can his flight encountered intense enemy fire. He made a dazzling approach without incurring damage and delivered the vital supplies. On short final into Dam Doi, he encountered very intense ground fire and he wisely aborted this mission. His aircraft received a round which injured his pilot and necessitated a precautionary landing. Captain Eisenhower’s courage, professionalism, and poised leadership are worthy of wide acclaim. His actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
