Citation:  1.) The President of the United States takes great pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to 1st Lieutenant Vincent L. Costantino, 1st Lieutenant, Army Air Forces, United States Army for extraordinary achievement while serving as co-pilot of a B-17 airplane on many heavy bombardment missions over enemy occupied Continental Europe. Displaying outstanding airmanship and skillfully assisting his pilot, Lieutenant Costantino’s action have been a contributing factor in delivering damaging blows to vital enemy installations. The courage, coolness, and skill displayed by Lieutenant Costantino on all these occasions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
