David W. Alexander Back

First Lieutenant David W. Alexander distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-7A Aircraft Commander of Duc Hue, Republic of Vietnam on 7 March 1970. On this date Lieutenant Alexander flew his aircraft on a tactical emergency mission to transport combat-equipped Army Republic of Vietnam troops to Duc Hue. In spite of marginal weather conditions and although exposed to hostile fire, Lieutenant Alexander courageously accomplished the vital airlift mission without loss of personnel or equipment. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Alexander reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
